Yearning for a wedding venue that’s literally out of this world? The firm specializing in space voyages, Space Perspective, aims to redefine marital bliss by offering couples the chance to exchange vows while floating in orbit. The company’s co-founder, Jane Poynter, reveals there’s an extensive queue of romantics eager to pioneer this celestial milestone.
Built for serenity, Space Perspective’s Neptune spacecraft lifts skyward at a leisurely pace of 12 mph, promising a secure journey. The flight is propelled by eco-friendly hydrogen, making it a zero-carbon affair. Uniquely, the Neptune stays attached to the company’s specialized SpaceBalloon for the entire flight, guaranteeing an uninterrupted and gentle orbital experience.
The technology behind this high-altitude journey is well-tested, previously employed by NASA for lifting weighty scientific equipment into space. According to Vincent Bachet, the firm’s development engineer, Neptune boasts the “most expansive windows ever to journey into space,” offering unparalleled views that he claims will be the crowning aspect of the entire experience.
For couples keen to make space their ultimate nuptial backdrop, reservations are open on the company’s website for the end of 2024. But there’s a lofty price tag for this unique wedding locale: starting rates are $125,000 per attendee.
