Virgin Galactic continues its streak of successful missions, having completed the Galactic 04 flight recently. This marks the company’s third commercial mission in just three months since the inaugural commercial flight in June.
The Galactic 04 mission featured a diverse set of participants, including Ron Rosano from the USA, Trevor Beattie from the UK, and Namira Salim from Pakistan. Beth Moses, Virgin Galactic’s Chief Astronaut Instructor, played a supervisory role throughout the flight, ensuring everything proceeded as planned. Piloting the VSS Unity spaceplane were Commander Kelly Latimer and Pilot CJ Sturckow.
Departing from Spaceport America, the spaceplane reached impressive benchmarks, attaining an apogee of 87.3 km and a maximum speed of Mach 2.95. With this achievement under its belt, Virgin Galactic is looking forward to its next venture, the Galactic 05 mission, with more details to be unveiled soon.
